The CEREC Difference

One of the greatest things about CEREC is that it can be used for dental procedures other than just crowns. CEREC is capable of producing any single tooth restoration including chipped or discolored front teeth which can easily be repaired with beautiful CEREC porcelain anterior crowns or veneers. As you well know, your smile can make a lasting first impression, and with CEREC we can restore and enhance that impression in just one visit.

CEREC has a history of over 23 years, and this cutting edge equipment has helped dentists world wide place millions of restorations. Perhaps the biggest advantage is the use of metal free materials that are the closest to your natural tooth enamel, and from this perspective, CEREC gives you the highest quality restorative care. Oral Cancer and the Velscope Difference

Some facts about oral cancer:
Every hour in America, someone dies of Oral Cancer. Oral Cancer is the sixth most commonly diagnosed form of cancer in the United States. Presently 30,000 patients are diagnosed annually with oral cancer. The 5-year survival rate is only 50%, totaling 8,000 deaths annually.

Oral Cancer risk factors include tobacco use (both smoked and chewed), frequent and/or excessive alcohol consumption, a compromised immune system, past history of cancer, and the presence of the HPV virus. 25% of all newly diagnosed cases have been in patients under the age of forty with none of the known risk factors. Oral Cancer is one of the few cancers whose survival rate has not improved in the past 50 years. This is due primarily to the fact that during this time we have not changed the way we screen for this disease (a visual and manual examination of the oral cavity, head, and neck).

With the non-invasive Velscope technology, at Luth & Heideman we are able to properly screen our patients to determine if there is a need to investigate any concerns further. According to the Velscope website, “When it comes to oral cancer and saving lives, these are the primary responsibilities of the dental community. The most important step in reducing the death rate from oral cancer is early discovery. No group has a better opportunity to have an impact than members of the dental community.”

Why All on 4?

All on 4™ is a relatively new technique in the United States but has been a successful part of dental practices in Europe for many years. The All on 4 technique uses fewer implants than traditional methods. Fewer implants means lower cost for you, and a faster procedure.

Areas that previously required bone grafting are avoided with the All on 4 procedure, which makes use of angled implant placement. Because bone grafting is not required with All on 4, the healing process (and the cost to your wallet) is drastically reduced. All on 4 is a same day procedure, performed at the Dr. Luth and Dr. Heideman Center for Dental Care in Las Vegas. The Cerec Difference

What’s the difference between Cerec and older methods of repairing damaged or decayed teeth? This is a great question, and is one we love to answer. A CEREC tooth restoration isn’t just convenient, it is also healthy. Your CEREC restoration only requires one visit to our office and utilizes state of the art technology to assist us in repairing your smile. Until recently, dentists had few options when it came to repairing damaged teeth, and most involved gold, amalgam, or other metals which don’t respond to temerature changes well. With CEREC, we can use strong, tooth colored ceramic materials that restore your teeth to their natural strength, beauty, and function.

These ceramic materials closely match the make-up of your tooth’s natural structure. This means when you eat hot food and then drink something cold, the restoration and tooth expand and contract at almost equal rates (unlike metal which can expand and contract disproportonate to to the tooth causing damage and wear). With a CEREC restoration, your tooth does not crack, and you can go on enjoying your favorite cold and hot food and drinks without a second thought.

In a CEREC restoration, the materials are chemically bonded to your tooth, so we can save as much healthy tooth tissue as possible while providing you with a dental restoration that strengthens your tooth.

Dr. Luth and Dr. Heideman Dental Philosophy

We invite you to explore a new generation of trusted dental care. We are Dr. Spencer Luth and Dr. Greg Heideman and our story began in 2006. We began searching together to purchase an existing dental practice in Las Vegas. In preparation for creating our own dental practice we worked together for a year to outline the philosophy and culture that would exist in our center for dental care.

After reviewing many of the practices for sale, it quickly became apparent that we would have to build the practice we envisioned from the ground up to get what we sought after. We want our patients to know that we value quality and service. We feel very strongly that our office design, décor, and equipment reflects the philosophy and culture of our practice. Therefore, we did one of the most difficult things you could do in Las Vegas at a very unpredictable time – we started from scratch and built our dream.

We are passionate about providing the finest and most current dental care possible. We have demonstrated this commitment to excellence by investing our time and resources into the latest techniques, technology, and equipment. We focus on high quality & high predictability in the care we offer to our patients.

We have a culture that permeates throughout the entire practice. From the dental care we provide to the relationships we create with our staff, labs, suppliers, consultants, etc. That culture is…

  • Integrity & Excellence
  • Intelligence & Training
  • Open Communication & Reporting
  • Neatness & Detail
  • Comfort & Fun
