Porcelain Dental Veneers

Whether you want to fix the appearance of a single tooth or transform your entire smile, our team at Luth & Heideman Center for Dental Care can help you achieve your goals!

To give our patients excellent treatment, we implement the latest techniques and technology to make your smile look its best. We can easily fix worn, chipped, stained, and darkened teeth with porcelain dental veneers.

What Are Porcelain Dental Veneers?

Porcelain dental veneers are very thin tooth-colored porcelain shells that are custom-designed to be attached to the front of your tooth.

Veneers vs. Crowns

While crowns and veneers may have very similar outcomes, they have some important differences.

  • Form: While both can be made from porcelain or ceramic, crowns are made to cover or replace an entire tooth. A veneer is a small sliver of material that covers just the front of your tooth.
  • Purpose: Crowns and veneers can both be used to improve the visual appearance of an individual tooth. However, veneers are primarily used for “cosmetic” purposes—covering minor cracks or discoloration. Crowns are primarily “restorative”—fixing a fully broken or badly damaged tooth or replacing a missing tooth altogether.
  • Placement: Crowns can be used on virtually any of your teeth, but are generally only placed one at a time. Veneers are made to enhance the appearance of your front teeth specifically—but this can be as many of your front teeth as you want. We can use veneers on all of your front teeth to give you a brand new, uniform smile!
So how do you decide which is right for you? Consider what your main problem is first, and where it’s located. Depending on which tooth is damaged and to what extent that damage is, a veneer may not be able to adequately address the problem.

For fixes involving minor physical damage or just cosmetic enhancing, veneers can be an excellent choice. They can upgrade a smile that has been damaged or stained, and they are very easy to apply.

Applying Veneers

Our technology creates porcelain veneers that are custom-made to fit your teeth. We will bond them to your teeth in the following manner:

  • One of our dentists will apply a mild numbing agent to address initial irritation. The enamel on the front of your teeth is gently sanded down to create a rough surface to which the veneer may be bonded.
  • The veneer is secured using a strong cement designed specifically for the mouth. After the cement cures completely, the process is finished! You can go home and enjoy your brand new, sparkling teeth.

The veneers will look and feel exactly the same as normal teeth. Because we file down a bit of the tooth enamel, the veneers won’t be a raised surface on top of your teeth. Veneers are smooth, sturdy, and white, just like natural teeth.

Our Process

Our porcelain veneers are custom-made for every mouth. The typical veneer takes two appointments and roughly 2–4 weeks to complete. Because we use the latest high-quality technology available, we can complete the process in one day.

We take a detailed digital scan of your teeth that helps us make the veneer you need. Using this and other technology allows us to complete the process quickly, so there is no need to schedule a follow-up appointment and no need to worry about your teeth being damaged while the veneers are being created.

Our method is faster and more convenient than traditional methods. Using our top-tier 3D scanning and on-site manufacturing technology we can create the most advanced veneer that technology can currently provide.

Dr. Greg Heideman is literally my hero. He gave me life, with my smile. I was at another dentist office that he was filling in at for some reason. Thank heavens for that day. I made an appoitment with him, he told me what he could do for me. No looking back. I trusted that nan, and I can never say thank you enough. His staff, his level of excellence, is my reward. Thanks Doc!!!

Dr. Luth and Dr. Heideman and their staff are perhaps the most professional dentists with which I’ve come in contact in recent years. Their dental options, both cosmetic and general, were thorough and honest. I didn’t feel like I was being upsold or “convinced” to have expensive work done. Highly recommended.

My experience with Luth & Heideman has been great. This is my second visit, with my first being a consultation. The entire staff was very professional and curtious. By far the best dentist experience I have had, and would not hesitate to refer anyone here.

Today was my 2nd visit with Dr. Luth. I needed a lot of work done, but he and Ally, his assistant were so nice, patient, always asking if I was ok. When I needed to take a quick break they never hesitated to let me have a little rest. They have so much compassion at this office. Everyone here is so so nice. Plus, and most important, they were very very thorough. I definitely give it 5 out 5 stars!!!!!
